Health plan leaders, physicians, and health IT experts weigh in
As we begin 2021, we are beginning to evaluate the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare in the United States. In a recent analysis, we found that COVID-19 resulted in a significant number of “hidden victims.” These individuals may not have been diagnosed with the illness, but they avoided or deferred care in 2020 because of it. As a result, they are at risk for poorer outcomes in 2021. To help payers and providers prepare for an influx of sicker patients, our analysis explores the top conditions expected to increase in 2021 due to the 2020 declines in healthcare utilization.
During our interviews with payers, providers, and health IT experts for the analysis report, we also asked them to weigh in on other trends healthcare payers and providers should watch in 2021. Check out their insights to learn more about where to focus your engagement efforts and how patient care is expected to evolve this year.
